No images? Click here Autumn is upon us Hello again, You know it's a seasonal change when another Ian Austin Author newsletter drops. Autumn is here folks, but let's hope the sun keeps shining for a while to come. In this update I have good news to share, plus an event I am attending and some not so good news. Enjoy MAN.MADE. UpdateMAN. MADE. is going gangbusters but with a caveat. Unfortunately I've had some serious supply issues getting copies into New Zealand as they are being printed offshore for financial reasons. I won't bore you with all the details, suffice to say, there are not a lot of copies in the shops here, which is so disappointing at the moment. Fortunately all customer orders of Ebooks and Amazon copies are unaffected. I was grateful to be able to have enough copies at the time of publication to fulfil all those pre-publication orders but that did mean I had to severely restrict the amount of review copies I could send out to all the book shop buyers, media reviewers etc. Happily Ever AfterHere is my wonderful news... I got married a couple of weeks ago. Vivienne (Vivi) and I got together around the time of the second Covid lockdown when it made sense for our individual bubbles to become one bigger one. How romantic! On the 22nd of February, we went to Queenstown in the south of the South Island, where we were married on top of a mountain called Cecil Peak in the Remarkables Range. To be exact we were helicoptered in and stood on a rock called 'The Ledge.' The ceremony was completed there on that dining table sized rock, with a 500m sheer drop behind us. It was honestly wonderful. We both had a fantastic day which was topped off with an unbelievably good Degustation meal at one of Queenstown's top restaurants. It was fantastic, I can't tell you how happy I am. The Ages of PagesOn Saturday 27 April, I'll be appearing at The Ages of Pages extravaganza in Hamilton. I'll have a whole table laden with all things me and Dan Calder for people to view and hopefully buy - it really is a brilliant day for readers and authors. Reviews Please!I really need your help to widen the MAN. MADE. message. So many readers tell me they enjoy the books but so few leave reviews good, bad or indifferent. I'm really in need of them now... preferably the good ones! If you've read MAN. MADE. please let me know what you think, so I can tell others. It's so easy to leave a review on Amazon, on Goodreads if you're a member, on anyone of my social media pages, on my website or by sending me an email. I promised myself many years and many books ago that I wouldn't make them up, even from what people verbally tell me in conversation. I want to have it in writing so that I can always show comments are genuine, at the moment that's hurting me but there you go. Here's the not so polite bit - don't think about doing it and put it off. Please do it now, you can read the rest of the newsletter later! MAN.MADE. Spotify SoundtrackHey, if you're part of the Spotify nation have you listened to the MAN. MADE. soundtrack on Spotify yet? It makes me smile every time. All the songs from the book in chapter order! Finally for this episode can I just say a quick thanks to my author friends and everyone else who've been around for the last couple of months, when I was in hospital or was having a bad book supply day. You know who you are and hopefully you know I love you. See you next time, Ian. |
