Welcome to the June Sport Social Enterprise Newsletter!

Hi

As readers will be aware, following Scottish Government decision earlier this year to fund a Single Intermediary for Social Enterprise in Scotland, SENScot, will cease its current operations at the end of June. This is the final Sport Social Enterprise Newsletter produced by SENScot and I’d like to thank everyone for all of the contributions and involvement over the years.

Our final Sport SEN session will take place on Friday 24th June at 10am (via zoom) and will focus on opportunities and support for members post June 2022. We will be joined by speakers from Sported, sportscotland (tbc) and Social Enterprise Scotland. It would be great to see you there for this final session and you can book here

From the 1st July, Social Enterprise Scotland, will take on the role of the Single Enhanced Intermediary – members will be able to receive information relating to social enterprise in their weekly newsletter, if you don’t already receive this you can sign up here.

Partners and Supporters

Sported Scotland have appointed a new National Manager,  Atta Yaqub. They are really excited to be welcoming Atta to this role given his wide range of hugely relevant personal and professional experiences. His knowledge of community sport is first hand, having established his own organisation (ANSAR - a Sported member) in his younger years, recognising the challenges for ethnically diverse young people getting active in his area of Glasgow. He couples that knowledge with his professional experience, most recently at the Princes Trust, where his role was to establish and grow partnerships for the benefit of young people - working not only in Scotland but with counterparts in the other home nations.

It will help in making informed decisions based on data and evidence – survey deadline 1st July – complete here.
