Thank you, This month, Perinatal Mental Health Service (PNMH) at our Trust marked Maternal Mental Health Week by promoting the support available to pregnant and new mothers experiencing mental health issues in the local area. We spoke to Toria who shared her own experiences of dealing with mental health struggles and accessing the Perinatal Mental Health Service. Her incredible story shines a light on the hugely important work the service does to support new and expectant mothers. Interested in staying up-to-date with the latest news from the Trust? We regularly upload news stories to our Trust's website, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. The second Annual Shared Care Record Summit brought together hundreds of Health and Social Care professionals to showcase national, regional, and local progress in sharing information through a healthcare setting. Throughout the two-day event, guests heard from a range of speakers. Including the opening keynote speakers on day one, Dr James Reed, Chief Clinical Information Officer at BSMHFT. Dr Reed has strongly endorsed using the shared care records with his colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting every patient’s journey to good mental health and wellbeing. As part of our commitment to support new mothers with infant feeding in the local area, our Trust is partnering with Hull City Council to promote the Milk Trail. The Milk Trail started at St Stephen’s Shopping Centre on Friday 24 May and those joining can use the helpful map to visit more venues on the trail. It has been designed to promote over 120 breastfeeding-friendly premises that are available in and around Hull. For some new mothers, breastfeeding in public places can feel intimidating and the Milk Trail aims to encourage and provide support to those that need it. Friends and Family Test The Friends and Family Test (FFT) is an important feedback tool that supports the fundamental principle that people who use NHS services should have the opportunity to provide feedback on their experience. It provides a mechanism to highlight patient experience and is vital in transforming NHS services, supporting patient choice and implementing changes based on your feedback. Each month we will be sharing patient experiences from our different services, alongside a patient comment. 97.39% of respondents thought staff were friendly and helpful in our Children's and Learning Disability service in April. "We had a visit from [the Health Visitor] for my son, she was absolutely amazing and made us feel really comfortable." Let's Get Better Your local pharmacy team are healthcare professionals who can give you clinical advice and treatment for common illnesses such as coughs, colds, aches and pains. They can also help you decide whether you need to contact other healthcare services such as contraception and sexual health. Most pharmacies can help you understand the medicines you’ve been prescribed and review your prescriptions if you have any concerns.

Engagement Opportunities Mental Health Division Involvement and Co-production Opportunities Our Patient and Carer Experience forums in Hull and East Riding, Whitby and District and Scarborough and Ryedale give patients, service users, carers, staff, statutory and voluntary organisations the opportunity to have a voice and to raise awareness of patient and carer experience. Have you received support from a Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach? Would you like to share your experience of care with our Community Mental Health Transformation Board? We are having a spotlight focus on the mental health and wellbeing coach role at the next Community Mental Health Transformation Board meeting on 18th June between 10.00-12.00 via Microsoft Teams. We would like to offer the opportunity for a person who has experienced support from a Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach to share their experience to help those working in mental health services understand what was helpful in the support that you received, the difference this made and any ideas from your perspective of how the service could be improved. If you would like to take up this opportunity, please get in touch! Humber Youth Action Group (HYAG) Do you know of any young people that might like to help us shape and improve our services at Humber through co-production? If so, please encourage them to join HYAG where young people aged 11-25 come together and tell us their thoughts, ideas and opinions about our services - they are truly making a difference. By joining, young people can interview new staff members, design new websites and marketing materials, develop their C/V, make new friends, and understand how the NHS is ran and funded. We understand joining a new group can be scary, that's why our Engagement Manager and Assistant for Children's Services can meet young people before choosing to join to ease any anxiety that they may have and answer any questions before their first meeting. If you would also like to bring any co-production projects or ideas to the group or need help from the HYAG, please email Bethia (Engagement Manager) at bethiadennis@nhs.net or Flick (Engagement Assistant) at felicity.hague@nhs.net. Governor Profile Tony Douglas has been a part of the NHS for over 40 years and is a Governor for the East Riding. Can you tell us a bit about your background please and how this led to you becoming a Governor? I am an RGN with a Master’s in Business Administration. I became a public governor as I remain as passionate today about the NHS as when I started my training as a student nurse in the 1970’s. I was keen to represent Trust members, the public and their views. What appointments and experiences have you had that you felt was necessary to bring to this role? I have worked in a variety of roles from being a staff nurse, a senior manager, as a commissioner, worked for the CQC, have been a management consultant and was also a Non-executive Director of a Probation trust. As a governor, one of the key questions for me is: how does the Trust and its’ services provide for and impact on the people of the East Riding, and how can services improve? What are your hobbies and personal interests? My interests include spending time with my family, keeping grandchildren amused, walking, football (Hull City of course!), gardening, reading and collecting vinyl records. I am a Kate Bush fanatic.
