Welcome to the Barnet Together Community Organisation Support Newsletter from Inclusion Barnet (24 March 2022) The final countdown has begun for two Barnet-focused funding opportunities: Crowdfund Barnet and the Barnet Vaccine Confidence Grant, so do take a look and apply if this fits in with your work. A couple of other funding opportunities are highlighted here or get in touch if you have a specific question/need. On the topic of fundraising we're getting to the last few sessions of our current fundraising course. The next one, on 6 April, Debra from Young Barnet Foundation will be showing you where to find insights into Barnet's demographics, needs

Applications take just 10 minutes to fill out and submit! Magic Little Grants will be awarding £500 grants to 2,650 charitable organisations on Localgiving. This year funding can go towards any of the following projects: Improving mental wellbeing Enabling community participation in the arts Preventing or reducing the impact of poverty Supporting marginalised groups and promoting equality Improving biodiversity and green spaces Enabling participation in physical activity Responding to the climate emergency and promoting sustainability Increasing community access to outdoor space
Organisations must either be in their first year of
operation or have an annual income under £250,000.

Home Instead Charities The aim of the grants scheme is to support small local community groups that are addressing social isolation and loneliness in the over 55s. Small grass roots organisations can apply for up to £500. Small local registered charities can apply for up to £1,500. Larger grants can be considered for exceptional projects.
The charity will only fully fund a grant request where the organisation holds no more than three months operating costs in reserve. For organisations that have more than this, up to 50% of the project costs will be funded.
Applications can be made at any time and can take up to three months to process.

The Barnet Vaccine Confidence Fund is a Barnet Together Alliance project funded by Barnet Public Health and Department of Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC). There will be two funding options available to apply for, up to £2,000 and up to £20,000. Closing date: Friday 1 April

National charity Andy’s Man Club to launch its first London club for men’s mental health in Barnet Barnet has been chosen as home to the first Andy’s Man Club in London and the South East, supporting working age men to talk about their mental health. Andy’s Man Club will host its first event on Monday 28 March 7pm at the Meridian Wellbeing Centre in Hendon and is part of a wider suicide prevention campaign led by Barnet Council. Free Electric Vehicle Suitability Assessments for Businesses in Barnet Cross River Partnership (CRP) and the London Borough of Barnet are providing businesses, inc any VCFSEs, with a FREE opportunity to monitor and assess their fleet for electric vehicle (EV) suitability. As part of the Clean Air Villages 4 (CAV4) project, CRP is collaborating with Geotab to provide businesses with telematic dongle devices in order to carry out a free EV suitability assessment. Following the monitoring, you will be provided with your own personalised EV suitability assessment report. This is a personalised report highlighting whether your business can switch to an EV and assisting you with the first steps of your EV procurement process. Volunteer Managers Training - Valuing and Rewarding Volunteers What volunteers give to an organisation is so valuable, they provide time and effort towards causes free of cost, and knowing how to reward this generosity is essential to running a charitable organisation.
In this session from Volunteering Barnet you will learn about the various ways you can show your appreciation to volunteers, the ways you can reward them through ceremonies, building their skills, bringing them together for events and creating avenues for them to communicate with one another.

Spokesperson Training Programme
Be part of a movement to put lived experience at the heart of media conversations.
In every community there are people with lived experience of the big health and social issues facing the UK today who are using their insights and expertise to identify solutions to create tangible change. This training programme from SoundDelivery is back for its second year, it aims to equip a new network of 14 leaders with the skills and confidence to become more visible public spokespeople to share their ideas, have their expertise heard more widely and ultimately drive change they want to see.
