Ko te tao roa o aitua e kore e taea te karo, kia ahatia, kotahi anō te kōrero mō rātou te hunga kua kapia nei o rātou kanohi, moe mai rā e ngā mate, e moe te moenga roa. Kāti rā e te motu, ko rātou te hunga mate ki a rātou, ka whakahokia mai ki a tātou te hunga ora, e kiia nei, ngā waihotanga o rātou, kei konei e pūtohe tonu kia whakatīnana ai ngā moemoeā ā te hunga kua riro, te hunga i para te huarahi mō tātou e whai ake nei, tēnā koutou, tēnā rā tātou. It has been a very busy time for the sector so I hope that you are all able to see light at the end of your respective tunnels, and that you will all get the opportunity to relax and spend some quality time with whānau over the Xmas and New Year break. That is probably sounding a little premature as there is still another six weeks or so to run until we close up for the break, and a couple of big kaupapa for us to grapple with. We are really grateful for the support and guidance the sector provided to the work we have undertaken in the news and current affairs space. After what seems like a rather long journey, the most challenging decisions have all been made, and now we need to focus our collective attention on operationalising those decisions to maximise the benefits for te reo Māori. Kia māia e te whānau! And, while we can all feel pleased about what we have achieved over the last 12 months, we also need to have a wary eye on the road ahead. To the next 12 months, where we will be engaged in ensuring the infrastructure for the National Hub is safely in place and operating, at the same time as we are dealing with the potential loss of time-limited funding in the new financial year. I realise that there will be at least one more Pānui before the end of the year, so you may hear this again. Take the opportunity to rest up and re-charge the batteries as soon as you can whānau, we’ll have a busy start to the beginning of the year. Hei konā mai i aku mihi maioha.

We look forward to working under Reikura and Kingi's leadership.
