Greetings!
We are pleased to report a successful start to 2024. Our team has been diligently collaborating with our charter school partners to address their facility needs. Multiple school sites are currently undergoing active construction, with the aim of completion for the 2024-2025 academic year.
We are also in the initial phases of planning our internship programs for the year. Further details will be shared in the coming months. In the meantime, we are pleased to present highlights from three of our partners: CIWI, Lighthouse Community Public Schools, and LA Promise Fund.
Anticipation is high for the upcoming year, and we look forward to providing updates on our ongoing facility projects and other developments.

PCSD Featured in CIWI's 2023 Impact Report
We are thrilled to share the 2023 Impact Report from our partner, Construction Industry Workforce Initiative (CIWI). This past summer marked the third consecutive year of our successful partnership with CIWI.
CIWI College students had the opportunity to tour two PCSD charter school facility projects in Oakland: Education for Change Public Schools Achieve Academy and Leadership Public Schools R & D campus.

Lighthouse Interns at PCSD
We are delighted to share an engaging read from our charter school partners at Lighthouse Community Public Schools on "Learning from Experts." The blog explores the invaluable impact of internships and the insights gained from connecting with seasoned professionals on educational enhancement. Shout out to our interns, Laura Ramirez-Avalos and Esteban Martinez, for their impressive performance during the internship with us!
LA Promise Fund
PCSD will once again be partnering with LA Promise for our summer internship program. We will be sharing more news in the coming months.
In the meantime, we wanted to share some amazing volunteer opportunities to work with students in LA Promise's program. There are virtual and in-person programs, including mock interviews, resume review.
OUR PEOPLE
Finance Team Tours Northern California Sites
The PCSD Finance team met up with our Northern California team for a comprehensive tour of in progress charter school facility projects. Started the day at Navigator Schools Gilroy Prep which is set to expand capacity to support TK students. Proceeded to Voices College-Bound Language Academies in Morgan Hill where groundwork has been laid to support modular buildings. The new campus is scheduled to open for the 2024-2025 school year. Visited Navigator Schools Hayward Collegiate which will be adding TK students.
Concluded the day at BayTech Charter School, where construction is underway for a new school at The Palace Theater in Oakland’s Fruitvale neighborhood.
