COVID-19 Update for Staff: Outbreak declared over at Calvary Gympie Views

Date:   17 February 2022

To:       All Staff – Calvary Gympie Views

From:  Cassandra Schwartz, acting General Manager Aged Care

I am very pleased to inform all staff that no additional residents have tested positive for COVID-19 at Calvary Gympie Views in the latest round of testing.

In line with Public Health Unit advice, the outbreak at Calvary Gympie Views can now be declared over. Our last residents have now been de-isolated and visitation will recommence from today 17 February 2022, consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care.

Information for staff and visitors

  • Calvary Gympie Views is open to visitors from today 17 February 2022.
  • Visiting hours are between 11.00am and 6.00pm, with last entry permitted at 4.30pm. This is to ensure all screening processes can be completed by our day staff.
  • There is no limit to the number of visitors allowed per resident, per day. However only two visitors are permitted at any one time.
  • Visitors will be required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear appropriate PPE (including a surgical grade face mask and shield supplied by Gympie Views) whilst visiting. PPE is provided by Calvary.
  • As a precaution to keeping residents safe, visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. This takes time, and we ask for your patience as we manage this important screening process.
  • If you have any questions please speak with the home manager.

As always, visitation exceptions will be made for residents receiving end of life care and for compassionate visits.

Thank you for ensuring our residents have continued to receive the safest possible care over this time. Your hard work is appreciated.
