Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families
 

Dear Resident or Family Member,

Important Update (No 5) for Residents and Families: Further positive COVID-19 cases identified at Calvary The Brelsford

I am writing to inform you that an additional two (2) residents have tested positive for COVID-19 at Calvary The Brelsford. An additional nine (9) positive staff were identified via our daily RAT screening, however due to early identification, these staff members were sent home before entering the facility.

This brings the total number of positive residents at The Brelsford to twenty four (24) and staff members to eighteen (18).

Calvary The Brelsford remains closed to all visitors. Visitor exceptions may be made for end of life visits.  Please speak to your home manager in relation to visitation.

A reminder regarding resident’s movement within the home:

• Sapphire Unit- All residents in isolation and will be cared for in their rooms.
• Emerald Unit- All residents in isolation and will be cared for in their rooms.
• Pearl Unit- All residents in isolation and will be cared for in their rooms.
• Ruby unit still does not have any active cases, and our Memory Support residents may move freely within their unit.

A note to all residents and families regarding vaccination booster clinics:

The resident vaccination booster clinic that was due to be held 18 January 2022 has been deferred to February under the advice of the Public Health Unit and Department of Health. However, 100% of our eligible Memory Support unit (Ruby) residents received their booster vaccinations today. We will keep you informed regarding dates for the upcoming clinics in February.

Calvary will update you again as soon as any information becomes available. Our staff are in contact with the families of the COVID positive residents and are keeping them informed.
