Hop to it, Casey! Thanks to a grant from Melbourne Water, some froggy friends are here to remind us to keep our waterways clean. Keep an eye out for our brand-new frog signs at Myuna Farm, Frog Hollow Reserve in Endeavour Hills, and soon—on a bus near you! Every bit of litter adds up, so do your part for the Lower Dandenong Creek catchment—bin it or take it home. The frogs (and the whole ecosystem) will thank you. Read more about the Lower Dandenong Creek Litter Action Plan here.

Got Poo? We Need You! The Koala Corridor Project, a partnership between Moonlit Sanctuary and the Western Port Biosphere Foundation, needs your help. We’re calling on residents across the Western Port Biosphere Reserve to assist in collecting koala scats (yes, koala poo!). With your permission, the team can visit your property to collect scats or install acoustic sound meters to monitor koala activity. You can also help by reporting any koala sightings.
Want to learn more? Join our next Koala Scat Collection Training and find out how to identify and collect koala scats to help researchers map local populations. This one-to-two-hour session includes a short talk and walk through bushland.

An end in sight for plastic pollution? Thanks to the unwavering commitment of negotiators from various sectors—communities, science, civil society, and industry—an international agreement to tackle plastic pollution has officially been launched. During the World Economic Forum, Inger Andersen, head of UNEP, urged for a "treaty for the ages" that safeguards human well-being, the planet, and economic health.

Razor blade disposal If you need to dispose of razor blades (both metal blades or metal/plastic ones), here are your options:
✅ Household Rubbish: Wrap the blades securely (e.g., in paper or tape) before placing them in your general waste bin for safety.
✅ Recycling: If you want to recycle them, place used blades (just the blades!) in a sealed steel tin (like a Milo or hot chocolate tin) with the lid on. This helps ensure they end up in the correct recycling stream.
✅ TerraCycle: Some TerraCycle drop-off points accept razor blades for recycling—check if there’s one near you.
Always handle used blades with care to prevent injury and ensure proper disposal!
