In less than six months traffic is expected to be flowing through the 5.9km Longswamp site on the new four-lane highway.
This expressway section involves widening of the existing State Highway 1 and we are now reaching the end of lane-building and focusing on pavement – the layers of rock and finer materials which support the road surface.
The road will have a chipseal surface ahead of a thick layer of Stone Mastic Asphalt laid.
