The American Public Health Association (APHA) Pharmacy Section hosts webinar on Pharmacists' Perspectives on Substance Use. The American Public Health Association (the other "APHA") Pharmacy Section would like to invite you to join us for our student webinar on Thursday, 8 PM - 9 PM EST for our presentation on Pharmacists' Perspectives on Substance Use. We are excited to have Anita Jacobson, PharmD and Jeffrey Bratberg, PharmD to share their insights and experiences in this field. Use this link to register for the zoom seminar. ISPOR: First Meeting and Elections! Our first general body meeting will be on February 2nd at 1:00 PM in STC 145. There will be free food and a raffle for all those who attend (3 winners will receive a $5-15 gift card to Dunkin donuts). Also, we have three executive board positions available for this year: treasurer, events coordinator, and student council representative . Community Service Opportunity - Narcan Educational Event on March 9th from 1-3pm! This educational harm reduction event is aimed at students, faculty, and staff who are interested in learning how to safely and effectively use Narcan. This will be a student-led event with support and guidance from faculty. If interested in volunteering for this event, please reach out to Hannah Higgins at hh20643967@sju.edu. P.S. Volunteers that are professional pharmacy students are able to use this event to fill their community service requirement for StEPP!!! 1/30

SCCP's First General Body Meeting! Interested in clinical pharmacy? Want to learn more about what it means to be a clinical pharmacist? Looking to get involved in new upcoming professional pharmacy organization ? Come out to SCCP's first general body meeting on FRIDAY FEBRUARY 10TH during SJU Common hour from 12:30-1:30 in STC 137! We will be going over our events for the upcoming school semester. Anyone is welcome to join the meeting, membership is not necessary. Help Promote Int'l Adolescent Health Week! Join groups all over the world to promote International Adolescent Health Week this spring. This community service activity is an excellent opportunity to work with a group of friends to share your science and healthcare passion with teens in this region. You can find details and ideas for how you can support here. If you decide to form a team, contact Dr. Kristin Motley at kmotley@sju.edu so she can inform the program director. StEPP Student Advisory Board. Would you like to join the inaugural StEPP student advisory board? Interested students will help shape the co-curricular experience by advocating for new and enhanced learning opportunities designed to ensure all pharmacy students are prepared to demonstrate self-awareness, leadership, and professionalism upon graduation. Participation in the board will include monthly meetings to discuss everything from program goals to assignments and schedules. We currently hope for 2-3 students from each PharmD class, U2-P3, to serve as advocates for their classmates for the remainder of the academic year. Of course, participation on the advisory board can and should be used as a StEPP goal/activity. Anyone interested in joining the board, should complete the short application form.
