Have your say and help our local koalas

Are you a koala watcher? It's heart warming to see many locals taking up the call to record sightings of koalas.

Nearly 400 people have signed up to Redlands Coast Koala Watch and are helping local koalas across the City.

More than 1,200 koala sightings have been recorded by members using their phone or computer and uploaded to the Redlands Coast Koala Watch Biocollect hub.

These sightings continue to provide valuable data, helping Council and our research partners build a detailed picture of koala movements.

We have identified our top five koala sighting suburbs based on the data collected so far:

  1. Ormiston
  2. Wellington Point
  3. North Stradbroke Island (Minjerrabah)
  4. Thornlands
  5. Cleveland

Tell us how we can improve

As the Redlands Koala Watch program grows we want to make sure it delivers for the community and koalas.

If you're already a Redlands Coast koala watcher - or have a passion for koala conservation - we'd like hear your opinions, insights and ideas at our upcoming co-design sessions.

Through an inclusive and creative process, researcher Dr Liz Foote from Griffith University will lead you through a series of questions. This collaborative approach will help shape the future of the Redlands Coast Koala Watch program.
