![]() BOSSI Candidate Workshop Kurri Kurri 10 & 11 May 2024BOSSI will be hosting the Annual Candidate Workshop at the Kurri Kurri TAFE Campus on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 May. This years event includes presentations covering the examination requirements and competencies, with separate streams for land and mining candidates. This event is a great opportunity for candidates to hear from a range of industry professionals, including those who have recently been through the registration process, and to network with other candidates. Presenters and invited guests will lead sessions with candidates and their mentors on Friday afternoon and on Saturday morning, candidates will have the opportunity to review and discuss past projects. BOSSI highly recommends that all candidates and mentors attend the event prior to undertaking their first BOSSI examination. BOSSI ExaminationsThe results from the recent Land and Mining examinations held in February and March 2024 are below for your information. ![]() Certificates of CompetencyAs a result of the examinations in March 2024, nine Land candidates achieved their certificate of competency which will be presented to them at the next BOSSI Presentation Ceremony held in November 2024. ![]() Discipline SummaryFailure to comply with Board determination At the October 2023 BOSSI examinations, a candidate surveyor was found not yet competent in their Town Planning examination for the second time. In accordance with Section 7 of the Board of Surveying and Spatial Information (BOSSI) Determination - Board Examinations, their mentoring surveyor was required to attend a meeting with representatives of the Board. The mentoring surveyor failed to attend this and two subsequent meetings without giving notification.
Professional Incompetence and Professional Misconduct In March 2024 BOSSI finalised the investigation and subsequent disciplinary action of a complaint made against a Registered Land Surveyor (RLS).
