Daytime construction closures are in place at multiple locations across Marlborough. Please refer to each area's section for further information. Kenepuru:
Tennyson Inlet:
All work is subject to weather and other unforeseen circumstances. In the event of unsuitable conditions, work will be rescheduled to the next suitable workday. Changes to planned road closures will be sent via Antenno. Sign up to Antenno here. In the French Pass, work continues on retaining wall construction and drainage improvements. On Archers Road in Tennyson Inlet, crews continue work on a retaining wall under a construction closure. Construction closures are in place on Kenepuru Road, prior to Broughton Bay as progress is made on several retaining walls and culvert installations. Crews will ensure vehicles do not get stuck between closure points during the midday openings. A new construction closure will be in place on Torea Road and on Kenepuru Road, prior to Portage Bay from Monday 10 November 2025. Work continues under a construction closure on Moetapu Bay Road and Te Mahia Road. Minor works will recommence on Titirangi Road from Monday 10 November 2025 under residents' access only. Crews continue to work on a slip on Northbank Road under stop/go traffic management, Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm. Between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Saturday 30 minute delays may occur. Outside of worktimes, the site is open to two lanes under 30km speed limit. Please plan ahead and allow for delays in these areas. Keep reading for information on:

New road closures |

Please refer to each area's section for information on existing road closures on Kenepuru Road, Te Mahia Road, Moetapu Bay Road and Archers Road. During all planned road closures, emergency services will always be accommodated. Kenepuru Road - Prior to Portage Bay On Kenepuru Road, prior to Portage Bay a construction closure will be in place from Monday 10 November until Friday 19 December 2025. The closure will be approximately 400m when travelling towards the Heads. This closure is needed for a road retreat and a culvert installation. The closure will be in place on the below days/times:
Monday to Thursday from 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm. We acknowledge there are other closures in place on Kenepuru Road between Linkwater and the Heads. During the midday opening crews will ensure traffic does not get stuck between closure points. Beyond these closures times, please expect delays of up to 15 minutes as work continues under stop/go traffic management. --------------------------------------------------- Torea Road From Monday 10 November 2025, a construction closure will be in place on Torea Road until Friday 19 December 2025. The closure will be in place on the below days/times:
Monday to Thursday from 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm. Work may be undertaken outside of these days and times, under stop/go traffic management with delays of up to 15 minutes. --------------------------------------------------- Titirangi Road Works on Titirangi Road will be recommence from Monday 10 November until late November 2025. The closure is needed for drainage improvements, culvert installation and road reinstatement work. The road will be closed to non-residents from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Delays of up to 15 minutes are to be expected for residents during the closure times. Work will begin at the Northern end of the road, closest to Titirangi Beach and will progress towards Kenepuru Heads. For specific worksite locations, see the Kenepuru section below. Work may be undertaken outside of these days and times, under stop/go traffic management with delays of up to 15 minutes. --------------------------------------------------- Waitara jetty The Waitara jetty will be demolished and replaced with a new timber jetty, tied in with the existing pontoon. This work will require a closure of the existing gravel boat ramp to all users from Wednesday 12 November 2025 to the end of January 2026. --------------------------------------------------- Kenepuru Road - between property numbers 955 and 2067 A new construction closure incorporating several sites will be in place from Monday 17 November until Friday 19 December 2025. The closures will be in place on the below days/times:
Monday to Thursday from 8am to 12pm and 12.30pm to 5pm. Access will be given to school traffic between the hours of 8.30am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 3.30pm. If you require school access, please contact the Recovery Team to arrange. Work may be undertaken outside of these days and times, under stop/go traffic management with delays of up to 15 minutes. --------------------------------------------------- Port Underwood Road - approx. 1.5km past McCormicks Road From Tuesday 18 November until Friday 5 December 2025, a construction closure will be in place on Port Underwood Road, approx. 1.5km past McCormicks Road, Whatamango Bay. Work will be carried out, Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm, with openings on the hour. Work may be undertaken outside of these days and times, under stop/go traffic management with delays of up to 15 minutes. To view the current closure locations, please visit the CDEM map. French Pass |

Crews completed the subsoil drain on Croisilles Road, approximately 1.6km before the Hope Drive/Wharf Road intersection. This week they are installing a counterfort drain and have started excavation for an MSE Wall. --------------------------------------------------- Work continues at several sites on Croisilles-French Pass Road. At approximately 2km past Okiwi Bay, crews have been testing the sacrificial anchors. This week they are progressing to installing the permanent anchors. Approximately 1.5km prior to the Elaine Bay Road turnoff when travelling North, crews have installed a new culvert, including a pre-cast headwall and rock inlet. Crews are now carrying out minor works including water table and slip clearance, and scour and channel remedials from 2km past Okiwi Bay for 11km northwards. This week they will also work on a culvert replacement. --------------------------------------------------- All sites in the French Pass are currently under stop/go traffic management, with delays up to 15 minutes at each site. |

Kenepuru |

|
Work continues at several sites on Kenepuru Road between Linkwater and the Heads. At two adjacent sites approximately 3.3km before the Mahau Road turn-off shoulder repair work and retaining wall construction continues. This week crews have been backfilling behind the retaining wall and installing drainage. This site is under stop/go traffic management with up to 15-minute delays. --------------------------------------------------- On Kenepuru Road, near Broughton Bay, work continues on a MSE wall and drainage repairs under a construction closure. The closure is in place until mid-December at the following times:
Work may be undertaken outside of these days and times, under stop/go traffic management with delays of up to 15 minutes. --------------------------------------------------- Work on Te Mahia Road continues under a construction closure from the start of the road. The closure has been extended until mid-November due to the volume of retreat material requiring removal. This week crews are continuing the retreat excavation and pouring kerb and channel. Next week crews will begin pavement preperation. The closures are scheduled on weekdays at the following times:
Work will be undertaken outside of these days and times, under stop/go traffic management with delays of up to 15 minutes. --------------------------------------------------- Construction closures continue at Portage Heights, located from Portage Resort for approximately 1km towards the Heads, as work continues on several retaining walls. This week crews have been undertaking pavement preperation under the road closure. Sealing is planned for Saturday 8 November 2025. Please expect minor delays while this is happening. --------------------------------------------------- On Kenepuru Road beyond the Heads,work has been undertaken near Fish Bay to complete a shoulder reconstruction and drainage upgrades. --------------------------------------------------- Titirangi Road is currently open to the public. Crews will recommence work on Titirangi Road from Monday 10 November 2025 under residents' access only. This site is approximately 18km from the Heads turnoff. --------------------------------------------------- On Elie Bay Road, approximately 800m from the start of the road, crews are nearing completion on a road retreat under stop/go traffic management. Please expect delays of up to 15 minutes. --------------------------------------------------- The Waitara jetty will be demolished and replaced with a new timber jetty, tied in with the existing pontoon. This work will require a closure of the existing gravel boat ramp to all users from Wednesday 12 November 2025 to the end of January 2026. |

Moetapu Bay Road |

|
Work continues on Moetapu Bay Road approximately 4.5km from the start of the road. This week kerb and channel has been poured under a road closure. This site will remain under stop/go traffic management with up to 15-minute delays from 3.30pm on Friday 7 November. |

Northbank |
||
|
Work continues under stop/go traffic management from Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm, as crews work to install three new culverts and reinstate the road. Between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Saturday delays of up to 30-minutes may occur. Outside of worktimes, the site is open to two lanes under 30km speed limit. |

Port Underwood |
||

Crews are continuing maintenance work on Port Underwood Road between Rarangi and Tumbledown Bay under stop/go traffic management. From Tuesday 18 November until Friday 5 December 2025, the site will be under a construction closure. Work will be carried out between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday with openings on the hour to clear waiting traffic. |

Work continues on Archers Road, approximately 2km from the start of the road, for the construction of two road retreats and a retaining wall. Crews are making progress on the augering and concreting of H-Piles, and will soon begin drilling and installing the permanent anchors. Closures are in place until mid-December, on the following days and times:

Kenepuru Road restrictions |

Kenepuru Road is open to the public, with overweight and overlength vehicle restrictions in place. Reduced speed limit signage and temporary traffic lights are in place at Portage Heights and approximately 500m beyond Nikau Cove (when travelling from Portage). Both sites have a 30km temporary speed limit in place. Please expect minor delays and follow all traffic management signage. Vehicle restrictions remain on Kenepuru Road from Linkwater to the Heads as follows: Vehicle RestrictionsVehicles up to 12.6m in length, and 6 tonne in weight can travel on Kenepuru Road and side roads. To apply for a permit for an over dimension vehicle to travel on Kenepuru Road, email recovery@marlboroughroads.com or call 0800 213 213. Other recovery roadsPlease be aware that on all roads, works may be in progress and/or traffic management in place. Please expect delays and follow all signage and traffic management. Heavy rain may lead to roads being closed at short notice. Regardless of the status of the road, please drive to the conditions.
