Safer in the Sun: Tips for Safer Substance Use this Summer

Planning ahead and following Canada’s Low-Risk Alcohol Drinking Guidelines are just a couple of ways to reduce harm and be safer during this summer’s patio and party season. Visit the Current Students website for tips on how to reduce harm and stay safe this summer.

The Wellness website also contains useful information on Carleton-specific and public resources for people who use substances, are questioning their substance use and have a substance use disorder.

Reminder: SAT Grade Designation Deadline

Please note SAT grade designation requests for continuing undergraduate or special students are due today, Monday, May 29, 2023.

Deferred Winter Term Examinations

Full winter, late winter and fall/winter deferred final examinations continue until Wednesday, May 31, 2023. We wish you the best of luck on your exams! For academic support resources, links to exam day information and access to wellness services, visit the Current Students website.

Celebrating Convocation with the Class of 2023

Carleton University will celebrate the accomplishments of 2023 graduates with in-person Convocation ceremonies from Monday, June 12 to Friday, June 16, 2023!

The complete ceremony schedule, along with information for graduates, is available on the Convocation website.

Fall/Winter 2023-2024 Class Schedule

It’s almost time to register for the 2023-2024 academic year! The fall/winter 2023-2024 class schedule and registration course planning tool is now available in Carleton Central (access by logging into Carleton360). Registration begins on Friday, July 7, 2023 for returning students. Your exact time-ticket will be available on Carleton Central approximately one week preceding the registration time period.

Student Registration Assistance Team

Need help planning your schedule? The Student Registration Assistance (SRA) team is available until Tuesday, September 19, 2023. The SRA team can help you build a conflict free timetable, navigate Carleton Central and provide general registration assistance. You can visit the SRA team at the Registrar’s Office on the third floor of Tory Building, or contact the team via phone at 613-520-3500 or email at registrar@carleton.ca.

Volunteer Opportunity — Let's Talk Science!

Let’s Talk Science at Carleton University is recruiting volunteers to help with an activity organized for local Black high school students via the Black Youth in STEM program on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers and there is an option to only volunteer during the morning of the event. Too Good to Be True? How to Spot a Fraudulent Job Posting or Recruitment Effort

Is this job a scam? Is it too good to be true? The answer in most cases is yes. If someone wants to hire you right away and send you money for doing nothing, then it’s a scam. Visit the Current Students website for nine warning signs that can protect you from fraudulent practices when job hunting.

Reminder: Quad Access Points Restricted

Access points to the academic quad are reduced due to construction projects until mid-June. The stairs between the Azrieli Theatre and Pavilion are closed, as is the pathway located in the quad running to Southam Hall. Access to Southam Hall and the parking garage will not be impacted. Quad access is available via the south-side stairs (beside Tory Building) and the stairs beside Dunton Tower, as well as through the tunnels.
