Staff Update: COVID-19 update for staff at Calvary The Mariner

Date:   25 February 2022

To:       All Staff – Calvary The Mariner

From:  Cassandra Schwartz, Acting General Manager Aged Care

I am writing to inform you that no further residents have tested positive to COVID-19 in our latest round of testing today. One staff member that previously tested positive on a rapid antigen test (RAT) has now tested negative on PCR test, and cleared to return to work.

Calvary The Mariner remains open to visitors, however, there are specific requirements in place to help keep our residents, their visitors and our staff as safe as possible.

Information for visitors

  • One fully vaccinated visitor per resident, per day will be permitted entry to the home.
  • Visiting hours are from 11.00am - 6.00pm daily, with last entry to the home at 4.30pm.
  • All visitors will be supplied with the appropriate PPE (including face masks and shields as appropriate) to wear whilst visiting.
  • Visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home.
  • Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Visitors are asked to speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements.

Thank you for all that you have done to ensure our residents continued to receive the safest possible care, with such empathy and compassion over this challenging time. Your hard work is appreciated.
