RSVP by TODAY to the APhA Welcome Back Picnic Sponsored By Rite Aid! A welcome back picnic is scheduled for Thursday August 31st from 1-3 PM in the PTC Corral (corner of 42nd street and regent square). Come enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, black bean burgers, macaroni salad, potato chips and cookies. Beverages include Lemonade, ice tea and water. Limited to PCP students, faculty and staff. Looking for a Job During Pharmacy School? Pentec is Hiring Pharmacy Interns! Pentec Health is looking to hire 3 pharmacy interns (P1-P3). This is a paid position and requires students to work every other Sunday, typically 8AM-4:30PM or 6AM-2:30PM. Pentec Health is a compounding facility that specializes in USP chapter <797> standards for pharmaceutical sterile preparations. It is located in Boothwyn, PA, approximately 25 minutes from campus. Presentation by PCP Fulbright Scholar Elkanah Linder, PharmD! For two years, Elkanah Linder, PharmD ‘21, has been part of the pharmacoepidemiology research group within the Department of Pharmacy at Uppsala University in Uppsala, Sweden as a Fulbright scholar and then research assistant. Her Fulbright research, 2021-2022, focused on stakeholders’ perspectives and use of two web-based knowledge support systems that provide environmental information on pharmaceuticals. In addition to her own research, she has coordinated and collaborated on several Swedish national and international research projects as well as educational initiatives pertaining to pharmaceuticals in the environment. Community Pharmacy Student Scholar Leaders Program - Applications Open!! The ACT Pharmacy Collaborative is launching the Community Pharmacy Student Scholar Leaders Program, supported by the Community Pharmacy Foundation, to give P2-P4 PharmD students the opportunity to 1) develop leadership skills, 2) cultivate a network of colleagues interested in community-based pharmacy practice, 3) apply important community pharmacy transformation concepts and theories, and 4) create a practice transformation philosophy and a career development plan to drive community-based pharmacy practice. PCP Student Organization Fair - OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS! Looking to expand your involvement and extracurriculars within PCP? Well look no further, as PCP Student Council will be hosting a PCP Student Organization Fair on Tuesday September 12th at 2pm-3pm in the STC Atrium. PCP currently has 20 active student organizations including honor societies, specialty groups, state affiliates, student council, a fraternity and a newly founded pre-professional pharmacy club. This is a great way to network with peers, find volunteering opportunities, grow as a leader and learn about so many different areas of pharmacy! Looking for a fun way to learn about geriatrics? Geriatric Pharmacy Elective - PP 524 has openings for Tuesday 3 - 5pm this fall semester! It's a hybrid class where you work as a team to learn medication and care management for older adults. Come join Prof Finn and explore geriatrics this fall in an interprofessional way. Lots of guest speakers, team meetings, interactive cases and even a field trip. Be ready to help the older adults in your life and career. Want to learn more?
