Territory finalists announced for 2024 NT Training Awards

The Territory’s brightest vocational education and training stars have been recognised with the 2024 NT Training Award finalists announced today.

This year’s Awards will see 34 finalists across 12 categories, including 7 individual and 5 business categories from across the Territory including Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Batchelor.

The 2024 finalist represent a diverse field of industries including engineering, construction, electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration, health, business, aquaculture, maritime, vet nursing, early childhood education and beauty services.

Now in its 69th year, the NT Training Awards celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of the Territory’s most outstanding VET students including apprentices and trainees, trainers, training providers and employers.

Currently there are more than 3,770 Territorians undertaking an apprenticeship or traineeship and over 40 Registered Training Organisations delivering training.

Territory winners will be announced at the 2024 NT Training Awards Gala on Saturday 31 August, and eligible winners will represent the NT at the Australian Training Awards in Canberra on Friday 6 December 2024.

School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year: Zane Edwards, Daisy Tulari and Cassidy White
Trainee of the Year: Storm Cloud, Breanah Corpus and Jessica Porter
VET in Schools Student of the Year: Tahya Anderson, Dakota Krugger and Jack Ludlow
VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year: Patrick McKenzie, John McNeur and Maureen Simon
Vocational Student of the Year: Bree James, Waratya Nasomkhwan and Courtney Stewart

The 2024 NT Training Awards Business finalists include:
Industry Collaboration of the Year:  Humpty Doo Barramundi P/L and Charles Darwin University for ‘An integrated education-to-aquaculture industry pathway for Territorians’; Indigenous Allied Health Australia, IAHA Group Training and Fox Education and Consultancy for ‘IAHA NT Aboriginal Health Academy’; and Northern Territory Mental Health Coalition, Star College Australia and Menzies School of Health Research for ‘NT Mental Health Skills Build’.
