Dear General Practitioners,

COVID-19 Update for General Practitioners - Calvary Cooinda

I am pleased to inform you that no additional cases of COVID-19 have been detected amongst residents or staff at Calvary Cooinda in recent rounds of testing. In line with Public Health Unit advice, the initial exposure at Calvary Cooinda has been declared over.

The home has now reopened to visitors subject to some precautionary restrictions:

  • Consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care, there is now no limit to the number of visitors allowed per resident, per day.
  • GPs and visitors will be required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) whilst visiting. Calvary will provide any PPE needed.
  • As a precaution to keeping residents safe, GPs and visitors will be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home.

Our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19.

We thank you for working with us over these past weeks to ensure residents continue to receive the best medical care in this challenging environment.

Sincerely,

Sandeep  Kandel
General Manager Aged Care
