Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident or Family Member,

COVID-19 Outbreak Update for Calvary St Judes

We are writing to provide an update on the situation at Calvary St Judes. Through the testing regime at the Home, we have identified an additional four (4) staff members and four (4) residents who have tested positive for COVID-19; this brings the total at Calvary St Judes to nine (9). Testing was conducted on Sunday 9 January, and to date we have received a small number of results, all negative. When the remainder of these results are returned, we will be in contact. The next round of testing will be conducted today, 11 January 2022.

Calvary Care Staff continue to closely monitor the health and wellbeing of all the residents in our care, and are in regular communication with residents and families of the Aged Care Home.

We understand that residents have had to remain confined to their rooms for some time now, and while this is to ensure minimal risk of infection, we know that their isolation is difficult. Staff are providing some activities within the rooms and our physios are providing exercises. Staff remain in full Tier 3 PPE.

We will continue to contact the listed person responsible for each resident and email an update with any developments. You can help us to ease anxiety by please sharing this information with other family and friends.

As the situation evolves at Calvary St Judes, please be assured that our dedicated staff are working hard to keep all residents safe from infection. We kindly request that contact with the Home is minimised due to the increased workload on staff, however if you would like to arrange a call with your loved one, please let us know.

Thank you for your continued patience at this challenging time. We are grateful that families are working with us so generously to ensure the safety of your loved ones in our care.

Sincerely,

Sharon MartindaleGeneral Manager Aged Care
