Traffic to shift onto new section of SH1 north of roundabout
After the morning peak today, northbound traffic will be driving on a short section of new highway north of the roundabout for a few hours. This will help to compact and smooth the metal in preparation for road sealing tomorrow.
Tomorrow, Friday 27 November, road sealing will occur on the new section of highway from the chicane up to the northbound passing lane. There will be no impact on road users while this work is undertaken.
There will also be road shoulder closures on Loop Road (SH15) while driveway entrances within the project area are sealed tomorrow.
On Tuesday 1 December, both northbound and southbound traffic will be shifted onto the new section of SH1 north of the roundabout. The traffic shift is weather dependent and will occur after the morning peak, under a rolling traffic block.
