Celebrating Territory Creativity: Nominations Open for NT’s Top Arts Honours

The Finocchiaro CLP Government continues to back the Territory’s creative industries supporting the artists, educators and cultural leaders who drive local jobs, foster innovation and strengthen communities through the arts.

The Territory’s premier celebration of artistic excellence, the NT Performing Arts Awards (NTPAA), is back and nominations are now open.

For the first time, the prestigious awards, along with the Meeting of Arts Professionals (MAP) will be held in Katherine at the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre (GYRACC) on Tuesday 18 November 2025, shining a spotlight on the creative strength and talent of the Big Rivers region.

Minister for Arts Jinson Charls said the event is a major moment for the Territory’s creative industries and a fantastic opportunity to showcase regional talent.

“The NT Performing Arts Awards honour the extraordinary talent and passion of the people who make our arts community so special,” Mr Charls said.

“Whether they’re on stage or behind the curtain, these individuals inspire, connect and enrich our lives through creativity.”

Nominations are now open and close Friday, 31 October 2025. Artists, producers, directors, educators and creative teams from across the Northern Territory are encouraged to put forward the people and productions that have inspired, entertained and shaped the NT’s vibrant performing arts scene.

“We saw an incredible response in 2024, with a record number of nominations from across the Territory,” Mr Charls added.

“I encourage everyone to get involved again this year and help us celebrate the talent and innovation that define our creative community.”

The awards recognise excellence across nine categories:

• Production of the Year

• Performer of the Year

• Young Achiever

• Behind the Scenes – Creative

• Behind the Scenes – Production

• Inspiring Educator

• Impact Award

• Ultimate Legend Award
