OUR PEOPLE
PCSD Team Gathers in Long Beach

Greetings!

March was an exceptionally busy month for us, and we couldn't be more excited to share some incredible news with you.

We're delighted to announce the successful closure of two loans. We've finalized NMTC loans with Tejano Center for Community Concerns to support the acquisition and transformation of Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success (RYSS) STEM Academy in Pasadena, Texas. Additionally, we've secured financing for CWC West Valley in Los Angeles, California. We look forward to seeing the ongoing positive impact these initiatives will have on their respective communities.

After five years, the PCSD team reunited in Long Beach for a retreat. This gathering provided us with a valuable opportunity to reconnect and strategize on how we can best continue our mission of addressing systemic inequality in education.

Keep an eye out for more updates and inspiring stories from the PCSD community.

Warmly,

John Sun

PCSD is thrilled to announce that we have recently closed financing for CWC West Valley. The loan will allow the construction of a new 9,000 sqft building adjacent to the sports field which will add 6 new classrooms, increasing total enrollment up to 650 students. Additional development includes upgrades to the gym building, an updated office, a new playground, and other site work.

SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS

Leadership Public Schools Community Make Mark on New Building

Construction is well underway at Leadership Public Schools (LPS) Oakland R&D Campus! Teachers and students recently had the chance to leave their mark on the new space by signing their names on one of the walls.

Located alongside Castlemont High School on a district campus, LPS is undergoing some major transformations. The project involves renovating their current building and adjacent structures, as well as constructing a brand-new 8,000 square foot building. This addition not only replaces three existing modular classrooms but also provides the school with extra space to accommodate its growing enrollment.

TCSD installs playgrounds at Bloom Academy

TCSD has recently completed the installation of two new playgrounds at Bloom Academy in Houston, Texas. These additions provide much-needed space for students to engage in playtime activities, enhancing their overall educational experience.

OUR PEOPLE

PCSD Team Gathers in Long Beach

PCSD wrapped up an incredible staff retreat in March. It was our first time gathering since 2019 and we got a chance to hear about the state of PCSD. We also heard from charter school leaders, Mark Kleger-Heine and Caprice Young.

We got a chance to team up cooking four different paellas for dinner. Most importantly, we had the chance to truly connect and get to know each other better.
