Upcoming delays on State Highway 1 over Ōpaoa River, Blenheim

Starting within the week beginning Monday 1 October, motorists will experience traffic delays on State Highway 1 caused by the need for single-lane traffic management at the northern edge of Blenheim.

The single-lane traffic management is required to relocate and re-lay existing underground communication cables. This is part of the preparation work to allow for construction of a new bridge over the Ōpaoa River, which will improve safety and journey times for all users.

Traffic management will be in place from south of Dodson Street to the north side of the heritage bridge for approximately two weeks. These works are weather dependent.
