A summary of public engagement

Kia ora,

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their feedback on our preliminary designs earlier this year. Your feedback will help us refine those designs through the detailed design process.

We also asked for feedback on speed limits for the section of old State Highway 1 from Raumati to Peka Peka, for the current section of SH1 from Peka Peka to north of Ōtaki and for those local roads that have been realigned or constructed as part of the PP2Ō Expressway project.

We received feedback on a wide range of topics including signage, safer speed limits, walking and cycling facilities, public artwork, and changes to intersections.

Next steps

We will be considering all feedback that we received from partners, stakeholders, community groups and the public as we continue to refine our designs for this corridor.

Once a detailed design for the corridor has been confirmed, we will share details with the community.

Once we have determined appropriate speed limits we will formally consult on the proposed changes with the community.
