Timber-industry leader in Alexandria has committed $2 million as the leadership gift toward the construction of Louisiana Tech University’s new Forest Products Innovation Center.

Student Spotlight

 

Kelsey Shoemaker

Kelsey Shoemaker, a graduate student in Biology from Ashland, recently won first place in the Louisiana Tech 3 Minute Thesis Competition and will represent Louisiana Tech at the regional competition in Tampa, Florida next year. Shoemaker presented research pursuits on sonderegger pine trees, offering insights to the “south’s most discriminated-against tree.” The significance of her research delves into the merchantability of lumber as well as sustainability in lumber production.
