Public feedback sought

Kia ora,

As work continues on the M2PP Corridor Improvements project, the latest round of public engagement is about to get underway for the Peka Peka to Ōtaki section of State Highway 1.

In the time since Waka Kotahi last spoke to the community about the work we'll be doing on the existing SH1 when the PP2Ō Expressway opens, we have been defining the scope of the PP2Ō Revocation project and working on preliminary designs for this section.

We are now ready to share with you some preliminary designs for the existing SH1. These have been determined through workshops between Waka Kotahi and Kāpiti Coast District Council and engagement with our partners and the community.

Waka Kotahi is seeking feedback from Monday 12 April until 5pm on Friday 7 May.

Your feedback is key to making sure the roads in Kāpiti serve your community effectively. The feedback and comments we receive throughout this engagement will help us in the detailed design phase of the project. Waka Kotahi is seeking feedback from Monday 12 April until 5pm on Friday 7 May.

Safe and appropriate speeds

As part of this engagement, we want to hear your thoughts about the speed limits on the existing SH1 between Peka Peka and Ōtaki, and some local roads that have changed or are in the process of changing as a result of the PP2Ō project.

We are also asking for your thoughts about speeds on the old SH1 between Mackays Crossing and Peka Peka.

Your feedback will help us determine formal proposals for any changes to speed limits.
