Dear Resident or Family Member,

Re: Requirements for resident outings

Firstly, we would like to thank you for your continued support and patience during this challenging time while we try to keep you and your loved ones as safe as possible.

We understand that socialising and outings for residents are important, and we want to encourage and support families to continue to do that. However, we need to ensure this is done safely to reduce the risk of potential COVID-19 community transmission to your loved one and all residents in our care.

To help us safeguard our residents and our staff, we ask that you discuss any outings with management beforehand. This will allow us to understand your plans and the risks involved. These might include things like whether the outing will be indoors or outdoors, in a private home or public space, how many people will be there, and the vaccination status of both the resident and family members.

This risk assessment and having a considered plan in place is necessary for all resident outings and is part of the measures we are taking to keep our residents, staff and visitors as safe as possible during this pandemic.

Please talk with your home manager if you have any questions or concerns about the requirements for resident outings.

Thank you again for your understanding.

Sincerely,

Cassandra Schwartz,

General Manager Aged Care.
