Catholic Schools NSW Sport Student Breaks Record

NSWCCC Athletics team member and Corpus Christi Catholic High School Oak Flats student, Delta Amidzovski has broken the 20-year-old Australian under-18 100-metre hurdles record. A record previously held by the great Sally Pearson, was broken by Delta on the final day of the Australian Junior Championships in Brisbane this month. 

The 16-year-old, who has previously broken NSWCCC and NSW All Schools records, stopped the clock at 13.02 seconds, slicing off 0.12 seconds from the current record set by London Olympics gold medalist and two-time world champion, Sally Pearson in 2003. 

“Sally has always been an idol. She’s the best Australian hurdler of all time, so to break her record is a dream come true for any athlete.”

The rising NSWCCC athlete has qualified for under the time standard needed for the Commonwealth Youth Games four times. CSNSW Sport is keen to see Delta’s progression through the elite pathway. 

Delta Amidzovski is definitely one to watch!
