Canterbury Golf News Canterbury Golf on display at 2023 Game On Canterbury Event The Canterbury Golf SNAG Inflatable was on full display at the recent inaugural 2023 Game On Canterbury Event held at the impressive Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre. In an opportunity for sport and recreation providers to showcase their sport, various regional sporting providers were in attendance to give thousands of members of the public an opportunity to sample their sport. 2023 - Canterbury Selectors Expressions of Interest Sought Canterbury Golf is seeking expressions of interest for the 2023 Canterbury Men’s and Women's Selector positions. These are rewarding roles that contribute to the ongoing success of Canterbury Golf. Ian Donaldson steps down as Canterbury Men's Selector Canterbury Golf would like to take the opportunity to thank and acknowledge Ian Donaldson who has decided to step down from the position of Men's Convenor of Selectors after 8 years in the role. Click below for more information. 2023 Canterbury Stroke Play - Results The 2023 Canterbury Stroke Play took place last month throughout a weekend of testing heat at Waimairi Beach Golf Club. The course which was in great condition with the very fast greens providing a good test to many of Canterbury's best players and to visiting players alike. In total there were players from 35 different clubs taking part with 16 Canterbury-based clubs represented and a stunning 19 out-of-region clubs to be represented. New combined Presidents, Secretaries & Captains Day Recently the annual Presidents & Secretaries Day was combined for the first time with the annual Captains Day as a joint occasion at Ellesmere Golf Club. The day was a great success with over 80 players in the field and representatives of the majority of the Canterbury clubs in attendance. The occasion was also used as an opportunity to invite Golf New Zealand's Dean Murphy (CEO) and Hana-Rae Seifert (GM- Partnerships & Legal) to speak to the clubs about the Golf NZ partnerships agreement that is being considered currently enabling clubs to hear about this first hand and ask questions directly.
