New bin service starts next week - banner
Hi there,
Second anniversary of four bin service!

We’re super proud to be one of the first councils in Victoria to have introduced a four bin system; and in February 2022 we sucessfully completed two years of the new service.

Thank you to everyone for your cooperation and patience during this transition. Your efforts have paid off in achieving fruitful results.

What did we achieve together in two years?

♻️ 17,513 tonnes of organic waste has been diverted from landfill and turned into valuable compost for farms, parks and gardens across the state.

♻️ 3,683 tonnes of glass has been processed into aggregate for use in construction projects.

♻️ 3,066 tonnes of materials have been recycled instead of ending up in landfill.

Keep up the great work! Together we can continue to reduce waste and keep our shire beautiful and sustainable.

Soft plastics trial update

The six month trial which started on October last year is being well received and turned out to be a huge sucess. So far, we have recovered around 600 cubic metres of soft plastics from going to landfill.

Good news! Council is looking at options to make the service permanent to support recycling and reduce waste to landfill.
