Welcome to the second edition of the Education Newsletter for the year!
In this issue we provide some insight into the recent high profile employment case involving Siouxsie Wiles and the University of Auckland and in particular the weighing up by the Employment Court of academic freedom vs health and safety.
We also recently provided some training to the senior leaders in a school on parenting orders and privacy issues and we thought it would be useful information to share.

Associate Professor Siouxsie Wiles' employment case against the University of Auckland has important lessons for employers in an age of social media and online harassment.
Navigating court orders and privacy issues.
All schools have an obligation to ensure the safety of the students whilst in their care. This includes having to mitigate the risk of a privacy breach by securing information that is stored and limiting who it is shared with. This can be more complicated when there are Court orders in place like parenting orders and protection orders.
