Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for General Practitioners

Dear General Practitioner,

Calvary St Joseph’s set to re-open to visitors from tomorrow

I am very pleased to let you know that the latest round of testing at Calvary St Joseph’s has revealed no additional cases of COVID-19 amongst residents or staff.

In line with advice from the Hunter New England Public Health Unit, the outbreak has been declared over.

Current restrictions at the home are being lifted, residents of all households are able to move freely within the home effective immediately, and we will re-open to visitors from tomorrow, Tuesday, 18 January 2022.

To help limit the risk of infection, general visitation will be limited to one nominated visitor per resident, and they will be required to have a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on site before entering the home. Visitation exceptions will still be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided.

Our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for any symptoms of COVID-19.

We thank you for working with us to ensure residents have continued to receive the best medical care in this challenging environment.

Sincerely,

Bryan McLoughlin
