A note from our CEO: March 2022
Our customers keep telling us they need us now more than ever. Good advice is most valuable when times are tough and, after a period of relative calm when the rollercoaster was at least on the straight, we thought we were seeing a new normal that was stubbornly holding prices above £200 per MWh. This is certainly difficult to swallow and at levels unimaginable before in the traded energy market, however, the recent strike concerns in oil and gas, combined with some specific capacity issues, has seen the price skyrocket to an all time high of £430 per MWh, leaving many wishing they had taken the £200 when it was available.
As you can see below, we are doing everything we can to provide information, to motivate and equip our team so they can support you and help our customers think about how to reduce their consumption, and therefore cost, as quickly and effectively as possible.
We do not have a magic wand when it comes to the wholesale market price, however, we genuinely want to deploy all our experience and expertise to work with you as your partner to find a way to still achieve the best outcome and deliver your objectives for your organisation, so please don’t hesitate to challenge us on how we can help you. It may only be a small saving on your water contract that is available right now or a summer shut down programme to minimise unnecessary consumption, but I am sure we all know that every little helps and we are undoubtedly stronger when working together.

Zenergi adds Telecoms into its full suite of utility offerings for customersWe are pleased to announce the addition of a telecoms (Comms) offering to customers, including fixed, mobile and cloud-based telecommunications and data connectivity solutions. The addition of the Comms service comes with Zenergi’s continued growth, with the services being delivered by the DB Comms division of the Zenergi family, who bring more than 25 years’ experience of providing tailored telecoms services to customers. |

Zenergi North East Conference
Following our Invest In You conference in Essex on 15 June, we are delighted to bring the event to the North East. The Essex conference brought 130 school business and estates professionals in the South East region together for some much-needed networking and relaxation and we are looking forward to bringing a similar line up of insightful workshops and a range of exhibitors to Ramside Hall, Durham, on 2 November. Is your Air Conditioning system legally compliant?Are you aware that in addition to annual maintenance, your Air Conditioning system needs a TM44 certificate and report? Air Conditioning systems over 12kW need an up-to-date TM44 inspection to be legally compliant. We provide the essential compliance certificate and report and an additional, complimentary energy report that provides projected investment cost, financial saving and payback period information which our customers find essential when making decisions on the recommendations. TM44 is important: did you realise that if the refrigerant in Air Conditioning systems leaks then it is thousands of times more damaging to the ozone than Carbon Dioxide? Are you compliant with SECR legislation?All organisations, including Multi-Academy Trusts, that meet two or more of the following criteria must comply: 250 or more employees; turnover greater than £36m/year; balance sheet value greater than £18m SECR reporting falls in line with financial year reporting and so any organisations with a September to August financial year need to start preparing now. We can make complying with SECR simple and painless, whilst also helping you to use the information to empower you to make energy and carbon related decisions that help you to save money and start planning for your journey towards Net Zero. Celebrating Wellness at our Zenergi Strategy Day 2022
Zenergi’s ‘Strat’ 2022 took place on 20 and 21 June at the spectacular De Vere Wokefield Estate in Reading. It brought the whole team together for the first time in two years to enjoy a series of team-building activities, motivational talks from guest speakers and our senior leaders, combined with lots of fun and well-deserved down time.
Reflecting on our ‘Year of Wellness’ so far…
Mental health and wellbeing is deeply rooted in our Zen culture where we strive to support our team. We understand there is always room for improvement, which is why the aim of this year’s Strat, alongside giving our team the opportunity to socialise with colleagues and spend time with those they don’t work with day to day, was for our Zen Family to take away more than just good memories.

Zenergi brings positive energy to the community in its first Social Value Day
On 20 June our team took part in our first annual group-wide Social Value Day, further strengthening how we are ‘Powering a Sustainable Future’ for our community and acting on our commitment to introduce Zenergi’s annual volunteering day for every person within the Group. The team worked in groups to carry out different activities, including litter picking; gardening; vegetation management; and painting to improve the community's environment.
The activities took place in Reading and the West Midlands, before bringing the team together for our legendary Strat event. Read on to see how we came together to make a difference…
