Job Shadowing: a guide to delivering an effective career development activity OECD This policy brief summarises evidence on the impact of teenage job shadowing on adult employment outcomes; presents international data on the characteristics of students who job shadow; draws on the research literature and national examples of practice to illustrate why and how job shadowing can be expected to benefit students and provides a step-by-step guide to the effective design of job shadowing programmes.
Informing better access to education for IDPs Christelle Cazabat and Louisa Yasukawa This report represents a first step towards bridging these knowledge gaps. It provides an overview of the data land-scape on IDPs’ education and top-line estimates of the number of internally displaced boys and girls of school age in 13 countries: Afghanistan, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, Iraq, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
Education Policy Outlook 2022: Transforming Pathways for Lifelong Learners OECD Building on the OECD’s Framework of Responsiveness and Resilience in Education Policy, as well as analysis of international policies and practices from over 40 education systems undertaken mainly since 2020, this report presents three areas of policy effort to advance transformation in 2023.
Teacher management in refugee settings: Kenya Education Development Trust & UNESCO This report investigates teacher management in refugee contexts in Kenya, and is the third in a series of country reports. It contributes to a burgeoning body of evidence about teachers in refugee contexts and aims to provide policy guidance to support ministries of education.
Treading water: effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on youth transitions Cameron Forrest This report examines the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on young Australians' education, employment, and social circumstances. Comparisons with historical data suggest that the pandemic prevented young Australians from making the typical transitions for their age group, with adverse effects on their well-being.
Report Card 2022 Achieving a fair education in England Fair Education Alliance In this Report Card, the FEA calls for a strategy to better link up and fund services that support families, to give schools real terms increase in the funding they need, and to gather comprehensive national data on the well-being of young people.
We believe no child should be constrained by stereotypes or the expectations of others. We know that if young people hear firsthand about the world of work, they work harder, get better grades and are more likely to break down barriers. They should have the chance to start as early as possible, and that is why we launched the national I am #InspiringTheFuture campaign.
