Celebrate World Environment Day with Costa Georgiadis

Block out your schedule because you will not want to miss the Environment and Community Fair at IndigiScapes, 9am–2pm on Saturday 1June!

Costa is coming to IndigiScapes!

Costa will join Ranger Stacey on the main stage in the morning for an interactive Q&A, sharing their energy and passion for the environment. This will be followed by a workshop packed with Costa’s knowledge and enthusiasm about gardening, with a focus on edible delights.

More exciting highlights:

  • Wildlife show: D’Aguilar Wildlife will be sharing captivating creatures throughout the day. Be sure to catch their interactive stage show with Ranger Stacey.

  • Environmental Workshops: Expand your knowledge with workshops about edible gardening, fungi loving arthropods, native bee hotels, how we can help threatened species, composting, clothing repair, eco-friendly packaging and more!

  • Unique stalls: Wander through the Native Botanic Gardens looking through beautiful, handcrafted goods and sustainable products. Pick up a bargain at the Suitcase Rummage and Rack Sale.

  • For the kids:  Look out for the whimsical roving adventures of Art 4 Earthlings, featuring ‘Charlie and the Bin Chicken’.  Get involved in weaving, nature craft, make a seed ball, dig and discover worms. Kids can also enjoy yoga in nature, henna art, flora and fauna face-painting and a taste of cold-pressed honey.

  • Live music: Enjoy live performances by The Suga Cane Mamas, with Minjerribah singer Georgia Corowa, Hello Africa’s interactive drumming and dance, and the foot-stomping beats of local folk rock group, Diddly Squat.

  • Tasty treats: Grab a coffee or lunch from the IndigiCafe, or sample flavours from the many different stalls and food vans. Extra hungry? Support the sausage sizzle run by local Scouts and Guides Associations.

Don't forget your reusable mug and drink bottle!

  • Native Nursery: Before you head home, swing by the native nursery to pick up something delightful for your garden to support biodiversity and wildlife conservation.

Join us at the IndigiScapes Environment and Community Fair to connect with nature and support passionate local businesses and community groups who are shaping a greener tomorrow.

Nature Calendar: To feed or not to feed wildlife?

In this month's episode of Ranger Stacey's Nature Calendar, Stacey delves into the commonly asked question - is it okay to feed wildlife?

Slow down for wildlife

As it gets darker earlier, animals like wallabies, echidnas, koalas, and possums are moving around. This makes it harder to see them on our roads.

In Winter, their movements overlap with our busy times travelling to and from work. Here's a friendly reminder:

  • Slow down on our roads.
  • Keep an eye out when it's dark.

Thank you for keeping our wildlife safe.
