Darwin CBD's Smith Street makeover

The Lawler Labor Government continues to transform Darwin’s CBD into a vibrant, revitalised green space with local Territorians and businesses encouraged to have their say on two design options for the Smith Street Streetscape Project.
The Territory Labor Government has committed $3 million in Budget 2023 under the 10 year Darwin City Deal to position Darwin as a vibrant and liveable tropical city, with City of Darwin leading the consultation and delivery of the project.
The concept designs for the Smith Street Streetscape Project which will take place on a section of Smith Street, between Knuckey and Whitfield Streets, feature additional greening, improved pedestrian and active transport access and enhancements to amenities.
