Update: Good progress made on the SH2 Masterton to Carterton project

We’re emailing to update you on the State Highway 2 Masterton to Carterton project.
We have collated all the great feedback we received from the community and stakeholders and the project team is currently working hard on possible ideas for the route.
We are in the final stages of this work and we expect to share our proposed safety improvements with everyone later this year.
We look forward to getting your feedback.
The business case process is in-depth and can take some time. There are many checkpoints to ensure the right solution is taken forward. To gain funding, we need to prove what safety problems exist and demonstrate that our proposed changes will solve these issues.
We’re looking at ways to make the road safer and keep traffic moving as the Wairarapa region continues to grow. We are looking at short-term safety improvements and considering the potential for long-term solutions.
