Click here 15 April 2025 In a message of encouragement shared with the church in the lead-up to Easter, LCANZ Bishop Paul Smith says, 'as we follow [Christ's] journey to the cross, we are reminded that he is trustworthy and true and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness ... You and I are the continuing voice of those who sang praises to the Lord of the cross and empty grave. Each year on Easter Sunday, we gather with the joyful shout, "He is risen indeed, Alleluia!"' Read more To share this eNews with your congregation, The LCANZ has joyfully welcomed two new pastors: Mark Tung, ordained in Auckland on 6 April, New Zealand, to serve the Mandarin-speaking Botany Lutheran Church, and Maria Rudolph, the church’s first female pastor, ordained in Adelaide on 13 April. She will serve as Associate Pastor at St John’s Lutheran Church, Perth. Read more Glynde Zion Lutheran Church in South Australia brought Easter joy to more than 400 students and staff at East Torrens Primary School by sharing hot cross buns and chocolate eggs. The simple gifts sparked curiosity, conversation and connection – offering a taste of God’s love and a joyful witness to the school community. Read more
RHYALL 'JIM' KLEIN (28/12/1933–11/04/2025) Ordained 20 Jan 1957 (St Johns Jindera NSW); served Renmark SA (1957–1960), ELC-PNG Missionary, Menyanya, Awelkon, Mt Hagen Seminary Ogelberg, Mt Hagen (1960–1978), Port Adelaide SA (1978–1986), Onkaparinga SA (1986–1994), Ferryden Park – Adelaide Aboriginal Lutheran Fellowship (1994–1998); retired 27 Dec 1998; died 11 April 2025; funeral to be announced; mourned by wife Noreen, children Richard, Kerri, Kym and Julie and families Members of Trinity Lutheran Church Ashmore in Queensland are making a bold move for the sake of the gospel and have received an LCANZ Local Mission Fund grant to support them. Trinity is partnering with co-located Trinity Lutheran College to plant a church for students and their families.
