Safer Substance Use in the Summer

Planning ahead and following the low-risk guidelines for cannabis and alcohol are just a couple of ways to reduce harm and be safer during this summer’s patio and party season. Visit the Current Students website for tips on reducing harm and staying safe this summer.

The Mental Health and Wellness website also contains useful information on Carleton-specific and community resources for people who use substances, are questioning their substance use and have a substance use disorder.

 

Important Dates

Wed. May 20, 2026: Last day for registration and course changes (including auditing) for full summer courses.

Wed. May 20, 2026: Last day to withdraw from early summer courses with a full fee adjustment (financial withdrawal).

Sun. May 31, 2026: Last day to withdraw from full summer courses with a full fee adjustment (financial withdrawal).

Refer to the academic year calendar for all upcoming important dates.

 

Deferred Winter Term Examinations

Full winter, late winter and fall/winter deferred final examinations are scheduled until Wed. May 27, 2026. The deferred exam schedule is available on the Scheduling and Examination Services website, in the Carleton Mobile app and in your Carleton360 account. Carleton Awards Student Funding for EDI Research

Congratulations to the 2026 Student EDI Research Award recipients. These students will share their equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) focused research with the Carleton community during the fall term.

 

Identifying Your Chosen Name

You can specify your chosen first name through Carleton’s Chosen Name process in Carleton Central. This means your chosen first name will automatically appear in systems and communications platforms across the university. Your legal name will only appear where legally required—such as on tax documents and official transcripts. If you’ve already submitted a chosen name, no action is required.
