As we prepare to say goodbye to 2023, let’s take a moment to celebrate a momentous year. Study NSW delivered a record-number of events for international students in NSW and around the world. From Sydney to Santiago, Mumbai, Jakarta and Shanghai, we had the pleasure of meeting many students who call NSW home. We welcomed thousands of visitors through the International Student Welcome Desks at Sydney and Newcastle Airports, won the International Education Association Australia Best Practice Awards, and connected thousands of students with businesses through NSW Jobs Connect. Water safety Watch this video, it could save your life Swimming is an important part of life for many people in Australia. It's important to educate yourself on how to stay safe in and around the water. To learn more, watch this video and visit Surf Life Saving NSW’s Beach and Coastal Safety Resource Hub which is available in many languages. Staying safe in the waterNSW is home to beautiful beaches and waterways. However, it is important you know how to be safe in the water. This includes learning about the beach, rip currents, lifesavers and how to stay safe in the water. Student support services Access free legal advice Did you know you can access free legal advice and support? Contact the Redfern Legal Centre, funded by Study NSW for international students. Understanding your healthcare rights in AustraliaLearn everything you need to know about the Australian healthcare system and how you can access healthcare in Australia as an international student. The International Student Health Hub provides comprehensive information about the seven basic rights for international students getting healthcare in Australia. Access free government services If you need support, Service NSW is here to help. They can provide guidance to international students in language and interpreter services, access to identity cards and documents, access to safety and emergency help and much more. Student spotlight Meet Francis from VenezuelaFrancis is a student from Venezuela completing General English and English for Business courses at Greenwich College.
