Nepal flood disaster: support needed Severe flooding in Nepal has caused widespread devastation, with more than 150 people reported dead and hundreds missing. ALWS is working with Lutheran partners, including LWF, to assess needs and develop an emergency response. As a church, we pray for all those affected by this disaster, for those still unaccounted for, and for emergency workers and aid agencies responding to the crisis.

The NCLS surveys are on their way to your parish/congregation!
We encourage parishes/congregations to set aside a date in October for the surveys to be completed. The surveys are to be completed by members aged 15 years and older and takes around 20 minutes to complete. Each member is asked to complete the survey once only. The results of these surveys provide valuable insights that can help congregations as they plan and shape their ministry and mission into the future. For more information, please visit
https://2026ncls.org.au/run-the-survey/ or contact the District Office.

Have you ever thought about those ‘other’ characters in stories in the Bible? The ones on the edges of familiar tales – and some not so familiar. Onlookers, the third book in Valerie Volk’s Bystanders / Witnesses series, brings to life another set of interesting people. The stories may be fiction, but they leave the reader wondering. For more information visit www.valerievolk.com.au
