OPENING RECEPTION FOR HAMBIDGE HIVE SERIES
The American Craft Council (ACC) and The Hambidge Center will host a collaborative opening reception celebrating Atlanta’s creative community while launching two major initiatives: the 2026 Hambidge Hive Auction and ACC’s announcement of the 2027 ACC Atlanta Fair. The event will feature a micro-market of regional craft artists, artist installations, and remarks from organizational and city leaders.

Marcia Wood Gallery is dedicated to painting and the sustained practices of painters. The gallery represents artists whose work is grounded in process, material intelligence, and long-term inquiry.
The program centers on painting as a space for intellectual and perceptual exploration through exhibitions and projects that reflect depth, continuity, and intellectual independence.
Join us for conversation, connection, and shared tables overlooking the city, as we celebrate craft, creativity, and community. The chef-crafted lunch will be provided by Jessamine Starr. Deputy Director Ife Williams will lead the discussion with Alisa Barry, Laura Flusche, Michi Meko, and Virginia Willis.

NEW HAMBIDGE EVENT
THE CRAFTED TABLE LUNCHEON / Wednesday, April 15 / 11AM -1:30PM / Uptown Atlanta
The Crafted Table brings together voices from design, culinary, contemporary craft, and the artist community for a conversation about how handmade objects shape the way we gather, nourish, and connect. Using the table as both a literal and symbolic centerpiece, panelists will explore the human stories, materials, and creative processes behind the objects that bring us together—and the importance of time and place in meaningful making.
As a part of our 2026 commitment to the celebration of Craft, and for the first time ever, our auction will feature an entire wall dedicated to ceramic cups and vessels for purchase.
The online auction will go live March 19 but the buy-it-now pieces won’t be available until the night of our auction party. Bidding closes at 10pm EST, April 18.

As always, the auction party includes a dynamic mix of performances, music, and visual and culinary arts celebrating the vastness of creativity in all its forms—rooted in place and reflective of the vibrant community that gathers around Hambidge.
This year’s auction will showcase over 200 artists from our robust network and the fellow community. We are proud to offer affordable buy-it-now works starting at $200 and coveted auction pieces valued up to $10,000.
