NRB President & CEO Statement on 2024 Election

NRB president & CEO Troy A. Miller issued a statement on the election of Donald J. Trump as the 47th president of the United States.

“NRB congratulates President-Elect Donald J. Trump on his electoral victory.  NRB and its members will pray, as 1 Timothy 2:1-2 instructs, for President-Elect Trump as he prepares to assume the highest office and implement policies that will directly influence America’s economic prosperity, the lives and health of the next generation, and the future of global peace and security.

“As a candidate, President Trump addressed the NRB Convention in February 2024 and articulated a vision for protecting and uplifting faith in America. We commend this worthy aim and look forward to combining efforts to safeguard free expression, support America’s spiritual welfare, and fight against religious persecution. 

“We congratulate all newly elected and reelected members of Congress, and we look forward to working with the 119^th Congress to maintain access for Christian communicators and support a favorable business environment for the religious broadcasting industry. 

“NRB will continue its historic work of representing Christian communicators in the Nation’s capital, defending against threats to free speech, and advocating First Amendment freedoms through legal, legislative, regulatory, and media engagement.”

John Carley's Journey from Tech Entrepreneur to State Senator 

John Carley, a small business owner, devout Christian, and now Republican state senator for South Dakota, is poised to make a significant impact on the state’s political landscape. His journey from founding a successful technology company to running for state senate demonstrates his unwavering commitment to sharing the Gospel through all available means. Carley’s victory in the state primary in June, coupled with the absence of a Democratic opponent in November, solidifies his win in the general election this week for South Dakota State Senate District 29.

Carley shared how much of his journey is intertwined with his history at NRB. As a long-time member and leader, he benefited from NRB’s public policy sessions, his role on the President’s Council, the association’s Washington, D.C. events, and mentorship from NRB’s seasoned leaders.

Veterans Day 2024: Honoring All Who Served

As we approach Veterans Day this Monday, November 11, we honor the brave men and women who have served our nation. At NRB, we express our deepest gratitude for their sacrifices and commitment to defending our freedoms.

“To our NRB members who are veterans, thank you for both your unwavering dedication to our nation and also your tireless efforts to advance the Gospel through Christian communications,” said NRB President & CEO Troy A. Miller, who served in the U.S. Navy.

Prestonwood Baptist Church: A Haven for Heroes

Prestonwood Baptist Church, led by Pastor Dr. Jack Graham, has made a significant commitment to honoring and supporting veterans in the community. The church recognizes the profound sacrifices made by these brave men and women and seeks to provide both spiritual and practical support.

“At Prestonwood, we give honor to whom honor is due,” said Pastor Graham. “We are united in our gratitude for our heroes—our veterans. We offer the highest regard and respect and love.”

The church’s dedication to veterans stems from a deep sense of gratitude and a desire to serve those who have served their country.

Hold Azerbaijan Accountable for Oppression of Armenian Christians

An informal coalition has formed to raise awareness of the atrocities committed by Azerbaijan by boycotting the 29^th United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP29) to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, November 11-22, 2024.

The UN's decision to hold the conference in this location helps to legitimize the Azeri regime's oppression of the Christians of Nagorno-Karabakh, who were forcibly driven from their homeland and sought refuge in Armenia last year, as well as other crimes against humanity that Azerbaijan has declared its intent to commit.
