Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident Family Member,

COVID-19 Update: Residents and Families of Calvary Cessnock

I am writing to inform you that an additional positive COVID case has been identified amongst residents at Calvary Cessnock in the most recent round of testing. Staff are in contact with the family and keeping them informed.

For the safety of all residents and in line with Public Health Unit advice, the current restrictions remain in place. Elrington and Windemere residents will remain in, and be cared for in their rooms until deemed safe to lift restrictions on their movement about the home.

COVID positive residents are isolating and receiving all care in their rooms.

A further round of PCR testing with our Elrington residents was conducted yesterday, and Windemere residents will be tested tomorrow 3 February 2022. We will update you on these results as soon as they become available, and we anticipate this to be at the end of the week

Although restrictions have been lifted for residents of the other households in the Nulkaba group, the whole site remains closed for general visitation until the Public Health Unit deems it safe to reopen.

As always, visitation exceptions can be made for residents receiving end of life care and for compassionate visits. Please contact the home manager to make arrangements.

Please contact the home to book a video call with your loved one, or if you have any concerns. Care packages for your loved ones may also be left with security. Please label them clearly.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Sincerely,

Sandeep Kandel
General Manager, Aged Care
