Orange Shirt Day

On Orange Shirt Day, held annually on Sept. 30, people from all over the country are encouraged to take time to meaningfully reflect on truth and conciliation in Canada. Carleton encourages all members of our community to wear orange, reflect on the impacts of residential and day schools and seek out opportunities towards conciliation—today and beyond.

Visit Carleton News’ Orange Shirt Day website for stories, events and resources to recognize the experience of survivors of residential and day schools.

Thurs. Oct. 1, 2026: Last day to request formal examination accommodations for Oct./Nov. final examinations from the Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities.

Human Rights Policy

Carleton’s Human Rights Policy [PDF, 333 KB] was approved in January 2025, as required by the Strengthening Accountability and Student Supports Act, 2024. The policy ensures you are protected from discrimination and/or harassment and have the resources to support you when needed. The Human Rights Policy serves to affirm the human rights and dignity of every Carleton community member.

Make a Formal Human Rights Complaint

If you’ve experienced or witnessed a human rights incident, you can report it confidentially through the Department of Equity and Inclusive Communities (EIC) or by reaching out to one of the intake offices. You can also use EIC’s online form to submit an incident report anonymously. No matter how you choose to report, every situation is handled with fairness and care.
