Welcome to the first edition of the Finches Friend newsletterWe want to build a community of like-minded nature enthusiasts, so we can work together to reduce the decline in UK bird numbers and promote real, positive change. This newsletter is our first step in doing this. As an existing customer, we hope you'll enjoy reading about our latest news, product developments, and promotional offers. However, it's not just about us, we want to hear from you too. Do you have any stories you'd like to share? Whether it's images or videos of birds using your feeder, tips on ways you've helped the wildlife in your garden, or advice on any useful resources, we'd love to hear from you. Please send your content to info@finchesfriend.com TO FEED OR NOT TO FEED?Some people believe that we shouldn’t feed birds at all. However, the last 300 years of industrialisation, urbanisation, and human population growth have drastically reduced the food naturally available for wild birds. Because of this, we must support birds and it's essential we do it responsibly. This not only means using the right bird feeder but adopting a regular and effective cleaning routine. Our "Food, Foot, Faeces" article, linked below, offers some practical advice on what we can all do to help. We've spent months developing a new window feeder and it's almost ready to launch but, before we do, we need your help.We want to make sure our new window feeder is as easy to use and effective as possible, so, we're giving away 20 free feeders to trial and test. We'll send a window feeder to the first 20 people who get in touch. All we ask in return is that you complete a simple survey for us, after a few weeks. We really need your help to find the best ways to encourage birds to use our feeders, so please only apply if you're willing and able to do this. If you're interested, please email your name and address to info@finchesfriend.com using the subject line "Window Feeder Trial". We'll get in touch with the successful applicants with further instructions. AS SEEN ON TVLast month, our feeders were featured on The One Show on BBC One. Steve Backshall and his family showcased how they enjoyed using our feeders together, on the 4th May edition of the popular teatime show. If you're interested in taking a look, you can watch Steve's section 20 minutes into the show. FATHERS' DAY PROMONeed some gift inspiration?
