Parents newsletter - June 2026

 

Summer is in full swing at Carleton! In June, students enrolled in early summer courses are wrapping up final assignments and preparing for exams, while students enrolled in full summer courses are preparing for midterms.

Fall and winter registration is approaching and many students are planning for the terms ahead. Whether it’s help with course selection, major or minor designations, or understanding academic audits, Carleton’s academic advisors and the Student Registration Assistance team are here to guide and support your Raven along the way.

 

Important Dates and Deadlines

Thurs. June 18, 2026: Last day of early summer classes. Classes follow a Monday schedule.

Sun. June 21 to Fri. June 26, 2026: Final examinations in early summer courses and midterm examinations in full summer courses will be held.

Thurs. June 25, 2026: Final summer term payment deadline.

Wed. July 1, 2026: Statutory holiday. University closed.

Refer to the academic year calendar for all upcoming important dates.

Celebrating Convocation

Carleton University will celebrate the accomplishments of graduates with in-person convocation ceremonies from Mon. June 8 to Fri. June 12, 2026. 

The complete ceremony schedule, along with information for graduates, is available on the Convocation website.

 

National Indigenous History Month

During National Indigenous History Month, Carleton is celebrating the rich and diverse cultures, voices and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people who are positively impacting the world.

Pride Month

June is Pride Month, another opportunity to celebrate and support Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer members of the Carleton community.

Early Summer Final & Full Summer Midterm Exam Schedule Available

The early summer 2026 final and full summer 2026 midterm exam schedule is now available.

Your student can find their schedule on the Scheduling and Examination Services website, through their Carleton360 account and the Carleton Mobile app.

Final and midterm examinations run Sun. June 21 through Sat. June 27, 2026.

Fall/Winter 2026-2027 Registration

Fall/winter course registration begins based on pre-assigned timetickets for new first-year students on Mon. July 6, 2026, and for returning students on Fri. July 10, 2026.

Your student’s timeticket will be available in step one of the registration menu in Carleton Central on Wed. June 17, 2026.

Student Registration Assistance Team

The Student Registration Assistance (SRA) team is now available until Tues. Sept. 22, 2026 to help your student build a conflict free timetable, navigate Carleton Central and provide general registration assistance. Your student can contact the SRA team via phone at 613-520-3500, email registrar@carleton.ca or visit the Registrar's Office on the third floor of Tory Building.

 

Government of Canada’s Temporary Border Measures Related to the Ebola Outbreak

The Government of Canada is taking decisive action by introducing temporary border measures to reduce the risk of Ebola entering and spreading within Canada. Your student can contact the Global Opportunities and International Student Services Office if they have any questions about their summer travel plans as they pertain to these new measures.

 

Health and Counselling Services Remains Open

Health and Counselling Services is open all summer to support your student. Whether they need medical care or counselling, they can book an appointment at any time—even if they’re not enrolled in summer classes.

  • Access care on campus weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.         
  • Book appointments online for medical or counselling support         
  • No summer course registration required

It’s also a great time for students to check their vaccination status and ensure they’re up to date.

FITA Sessions Available

The From Intention to Action (FITA) program is currently accepting students. The program supports undergraduate and graduate students in the often stressful university experience. FITA students meet one-on-one with a coordinator for one hour every week for either five or 10 consecutive weeks. Students can schedule an intake interview online or email fitaction@carleton.ca.

 

Ottawa Grad Career Fair

Graduating students, early-career alumni and upper-year students are invited to the Ottawa Grad Career Fair, hosted by Algonquin College, Carleton University, La Cité and the University of Ottawa on Thurs. June 18, 2026, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Nepean Sportsplex.
