Good morning, Michigan families!
We are continuing with day 2 (of 10) in our family worship idea on obedience. Today we wrap up practicing our scripture song on being slow to anger; Proverbs 16:32.
Review
- “What is the character trait we are studying?” Obedience
- “Do you remember what our definition of obedience is?” Obedience is willingly, promptly, and
cheerfully doing whatever an authority asks. Another word for obedience is submission.
- Remember to pray on your own for God’s help in being obedient.
Memorize
- Ephesians 6:1
- Colossians 3:20
Read
- Genesis 22:1-18 (if your child can read, alternate reading verses.)
Discuss
- “What did God ask Abraham to do?”
- “Did Abraham argue?” “Did he obey immediately, or did he wait?” “How many times did God have to tell Abraham before Abraham obeyed?”
- “What was the result of Abraham’s obedience?” “What did God promise him because he obeyed?”
Pray
- Pray that we could obey the first time we are told, like Abraham did.
Scripture Song
- Practice “He that is Slow.” Proverbs 16:32
