Did You Know Grad Students Have Their Own Mental Health Counsellor?Magda Georgescu is a counsellor with Carleton’s Health and Counselling Services who is focused on helping graduate students. To make a free appointment with Magda, please call the office at 613-520-6674. Once you call, you will speak with a Patient Care Coordinator who will send you an intake and consent form that needs to be completed before speaking with an Intake Counsellor. This intake session can also take place in person at the clinic, if that is your preference, and then you will be able to meet with Magda. |
International Student Services Office (ISSO)All About Post-Graduation Work Permits: With the fall term coming to a close; many international students have been inquiring about post-graduation work permits. If you hope to apply for this permit so you can remain in Canada after graduation and get Canadian work experience, we encourage you to attend our next info session on Dec. 4, 2023 from 11 a.m. to noon which is being led by our licensed immigration advisors. We will share information on how to maintain your eligibility, how to properly navigate the process, and how to make the most out of your application. |
Carleton’s tunnels are one of the defining features of the campus, a vital piece of campus infrastructure in regards to mobility, a space of social-cultural engagement with important study and social hubs in the Nideyinàn Building, Loeb, and Library tunnel junctions; the tunnels are filled with life, movement, and tunnel carts.
Our goal is to engage in a documentation and analysis of the tunnel murals, while practicing visual ethnographic methods. This Ethnographic Lab event will be fully interactive and give all participants opportunities to engage in practice. All ethnographic minded students, faculty and community members are invited (classes are welcome to participate, please RVSP to emmabider@cunet.carleton.ca )
Call for Mini-Courses Program (MCP) Proposals are Now Open!The MCP provides students from grades 8 to 11 with the chance to engage with Carleton for a one-week enriched learning experience. The Undergraduate Recruitment Office is looking for enthusiastic faculty, staff, and graduate students interested in teaching an MCP course to a group of bright, young students from April 29 to May 3, 2024. Carleton Model NATO 2024 is taking place at the Delta Ottawa City Centre Hotel on Feb 22-25, 2024. The 2024 conference theme is, Modernizing NATO on and off the Battlefield.
Every year since 2002, hundreds of students from universities across North America descend upon the nation's capital to take part in invigorating and thought-provoking simulation of NATO decision-making and crisis management. The conference is hosted by the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and supported by NATO.
Apart from discussions and negotiations at various committees, the conference includes visits to embassies of NATO countries, renowned keynote speakers, reception, and other opportunities to expand professional networks within the political and military community of Ottawa.
Registration is now open. Please, register as a delegation of your university/college, or as an individual participant. Early Bird registration rate is available until Nov. 30, 2023.
